The president of the University of Zakho, Assist.Pro.Dr.Lazgin Abdi Jameel, participated in the 49th General conference of the Association of Arab Universities 2016 which was held at the campus of the United Arab Emirates University on Sunday, the 10th of April,2016. Furthermore, More than 300 of presidents and directors of Arabic and international universities also participated in this conference which lasted for two days.

The central aim of this conference is to approve the communications among the universities and facilitate the means by which it can serve their communities. In addition, the conference emphasized the need of creating a mechanism among universities so as to achieve consistency among them, due to the urgent need to develop the education system in the Arabic area, because the universities are the most responsible ones to meet the community needs and support innovation and scientific research.
